How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Maintenance Technician
    Location: Winsford
    Salary: £43,000
    Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 3:30pm
    An established manufacturing site in Winsford is currently seeking a Electrical maintenance engineer to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to move away from shift work and into a stable Monday to Friday days role while working on a varied range of plant equipment.
    The Role
    Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining plant equipment and facilities to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation. The role focuses primarily on electrical maintenance while also supporting mechanical work where skills allow.
    The successful candidate will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving equipment reliability and supporting production to meet business and customer requirements.
    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance on plant equipment and site facilities
    Support maintenance activities across instrumentation and electrical systems where competency allows
    Identify equipment issues and improvement opportunities and communicate these to the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Planner
    Follow and maintain safe working practices and company procedures
    Ensure all work is completed in line with environmental, health and safety standards
    Maintain a clean and organised workshop and ensure work areas are left in a safe condition after maintenance activities
    Participate in occasional out-of-hours work or call-outs when required by the business Skills and Experience

    Qualified Maintenance Technician (Electrical bias preferred)
    Previous experience working within heavy engineering, manufacturing, or processing environments
    Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
    Experience working with plant and rotating equipment
    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    Good communication skills both written and verbal
    Willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment and technologies
