How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We are partnering with an award-winning Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy to recruit a Senior Civil Engineer to join their growing team.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to take ownership of project delivery across a diverse portfolio, while working within a supportive and technically strong team.

    The Role

    As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of civil engineering consultancy services from feasibility through to construction. You’ll be trusted to lead on technical output while collaborating closely with colleagues across all levels.

    You will work on a variety of housing, residential, commercial, and extra care developments, delivering innovative and practical infrastructure solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead day-to-day delivery of civil engineering design projects

    * Produce and review drainage, highway, and infrastructure designs

    * Deliver SuDS, Flood Risk Assessments, and earthworks design

    * Prepare drawings, technical reports, calculations, and site appraisals

    * Ensure compliance with relevant UK design standards and planning requirements

    * Liaise with clients, local authorities, and project stakeholders

    * Support and mentor junior engineers within the team

    What We’re Looking For

    * Degree (BEng/MEng/MSc/HNC/HND) in Civil Engineering

    * Minimum 4 years’ UK consultancy experience

    * Strong experience in drainage and highway design

    * Knowledge of SuDS, FRA, earthworks, and UK planning processes

    * Familiarity with standards including Manual for Streets and DMRB

    * Proficient in AutoCAD, Causeway Flow, and Causeway Live

    * Experience working with residential developers

    * Strong communication skills and a proactive approach

    * Full UK driving licence (desirable)
