How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A forward-thinking fire engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Fire Engineer to join their growing team. With a diverse project pipeline spanning commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and high-security developments, this is a rare opportunity for a Fire Engineer to work across a range of technically challenging schemes in a flexible, supportive environment.

    Whether leading major schemes or contributing to specialist project stages, as a Fire Engineer you will play a visible, valued role in shaping safer buildings and stronger client relationships.

    The Fire Engineer's Role

    Develop performance-based fire strategies in line with ADB, BS 9999, BS 9991, and the Building Safety Act
    Produce clear, compliant fire strategy reports from concept through to completion
    Contribute to fire modelling and advanced calculations (CFD experience advantageous)
    Engage directly with clients, design teams, and authorities across all RIBA stages
    Conduct site inspections, reviews and risk assessments
    Support junior team members and technical development initiativesThe Fire Engineer

    Degree in Fire Engineering or closely related field
    2-3+ years' experience in a UK fire consultancy or multidisciplinary environment
    Proven ability to deliver quality reports and client-facing technical advice
    Strong knowledge of UK fire safety regulations and codes
    Progressing towards MIFireE or IEng / CEng status (or actively interested)
    Proactive and collaborative, with a clear, solution-focused mindsetIn Return?

    £45,000 - £60,000 base salary
