How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A leading Construction Consultancy firm are now seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to support the delivery of a wide range of projects across London and the Southeast. The Building Surveyor will join an established team providing both professional and project-led Building Surveying services. This Building Surveyor role offers exposure to multiple sectors and gives the Building Surveyor the opportunity to work within a collaborative consultancy environment delivering core Building Surveying services.

    The Company?
    The successful Building Surveyor will be joining a well-structured consultancy with a strong presence across the UK. The Building Surveyor will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering projects across Retail, Leisure, Heritage and Corporate Real Estate sectors. This role offers consistent project flow and the opportunity to contribute to both service delivery and business development.

    The Role
    As the Building Surveyor you will take responsibility for delivering a range of surveying services across both professional and project work.

    The role will include:
    * Preparing feasibility studies and recommendations
    * Undertaking surveys, design and specification services
    * Producing reports, scoping works and cost estimates
    * Delivering contract administration and final account agreements
    * Ensuring compliance with legislation including health and safety and asbestos regulations
    * Managing client and consultant relationships throughout project stages
    * Supporting bid preparation and business development activity
    * Maintaining project data and contributing to internal systems
    * Working within a multidisciplinary team across various sectors

    The Building Surveyor?
    You will be a technically capable and client-focused individual with experience in Building Surveying within a consultancy or client-side environment.

    The Building Surveyor must have:
    * Previous Building Surveying experience within a consultancy or client environment
    * Strong technical knowledge of Building Surveying services
    * Good negotiation, presentation and report writing skills
    * Strong IT capability
    * A relevant degree in Building Surveying or similar discipline
    * MRICS accreditation
