How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Topographical Surveyor
    📍 Coventry, West Midlands (Hybrid Working)
    💰 £30,000 – £45,000 + Excellent Benefits
    🏢 JP Engineering

    Love being out on site but want a company that actually values your work?
    This could be the move you’ve been looking for.

    We’re working with a well-respected, multi-disciplinary consultancy that knows good surveyors are worth their weight in gold. With projects across development and infrastructure, no two days look the same — and your work will genuinely shape what gets built.

    What you’ll be getting stuck into

    * Heading out on site to carry out topographical surveys (total stations & GNSS)

    * Turning raw site data into clear, accurate, build-ready outputs

    * Producing drawings and models that people actually rely on

    * Working alongside engineers, PMs, and clients who know their stuff

    * Keeping standards high — because details matter

    * Sharing your knowledge and helping others level up

    What you’ll need

    * Solid experience in topographical surveying

    * Confidence with GPS/GNSS and total station kit

    * A sharp eye for detail (you notice what others don’t)

    * Experience with CAD and survey software

    * Full UK driving licence

    * CSCS card (or happy to get one)

    The good stuff

    * £30,000 – £45,000 salary depending on experience

    * Techscheme (fancy a new gadget or home upgrade? Sorted)

    * Healthcare Cash Plan

    * Enhanced family leave

    * Buy extra holiday when you need it

    * Training, development, and real career progression

    * A team that actually supports you (not just says they do)

    Why this role stands out
    You won’t just be another surveyor ticking boxes. You’ll be trusted, supported, and given projects that keep things interesting — with the flexibility to balance site and home working
