A leading precision engineering company in Bristol is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to assemble, maintain, and adjust tooling, jigs, and fixtures to the highest standards. Your work ensures every aerospace component is manufactured safely and accurately.
What You’ll Do
Assemble, fit, and maintain precision tooling, jigs, and fixtures to tight tolerances.
Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
Conduct inspections and adjustments to ensure tooling meets strict aerospace standards.
Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and improve tooling performance.
Use hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and basic machine tools with confidence.
Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workstation.
Document work accurately and report any issues promptly.
Who We’re Looking For
Essential:
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally in aerospace or precision tooling.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and schematics.
Skilled in using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine tools.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, tolerances, and alignment techniques.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable:
Experience in aerospace or ISO-certified manufacturing environments.
Technical qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
