How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: MPS (ECT Scale)
    Job Type: Full-time, Long-Term (with potential for permanent)

    Job Description

    We are working with a supportive and well-established secondary school in Coventry to recruit a motivated Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Maths. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to begin their career in a nurturing environment with strong mentoring and development support.
    The successful candidate will deliver engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students build confidence and achieve their full potential in mathematics.

    Key Responsibilities

    Plan and deliver structured and engaging Maths lessons with support from the department
    Teach Mathematics across KS3 and KS4
    Work closely with a mentor to develop teaching practice and classroom management skills
    Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to support improvement
    Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
    Participate in the school's ECT induction programme
    Contribute to the wider life of the school and Maths department

    Requirements

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending completion of training
    Degree in Mathematics or a related subject
    Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching Maths
    Willingness to learn, develop, and take on feedback
    Good organisational and communication skills
    A positive and proactive attitude
    Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
