Job Title: Indirect Category Specialist (Indirect & Technology)
Location: Guildford (3 days on-site
Salary: Up to £55,000 + Benefits
Role Overview
This is a key role within the procurement function, responsible for managing a range of indirect spend categories, with a particular focus on technology (IT, software, telecoms) alongside broader indirect areas such as professional services, facilities, and marketing. You will drive value through strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimisation while supporting business stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies across indirect and technology spend areas
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFx processes, negotiations, and contract award
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance, innovation, and value delivery
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and align procurement strategies
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and deliver measurable commercial benefits
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and risk management frameworks
- Monitor market trends and bring insights to support decision-making
- Support contract management and continuous improvement initiatives
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in indirect procurement, with exposure to technology/IT categories
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Experience managing multiple categories in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Knowledge of procurement best practices and contract management
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable
