How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We're recruiting on behalf of a growing, values‑led charity for an experienced Head of Finance. This is a senior role with responsibility for leading the financial function, ensuring strong governance & Compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making at board level.
    You'll work closely with the CEO, COO and trustees, providing clear financial insight while ensuring the organisation remains compliant within a regulated environment.
    Key responsibilities
    * Lead the overall financial management of the organisation
    * Prepare and present clear financial reports to the Board of Trustees
    * Manage annual budgets and maintain a rolling 5‑year financial plan
    * Oversee year‑end accounts and manage external audits
    * Act as Company Secretary, ensuring regulatory and governance compliance
    * Lead and support the Finance and Governance Manager
    * Support funding activity such as, attending funder meetings, contributing to funding bids and producing financial reports for funders
    * Actively support the work of the senior leadership team, including advising on strategy through financial lens
    Who we are looking for:
    * Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
    * Previous experience in a senior finance role within a regulated environment
    * Strong technical knowledge across budgeting, forecasting and reporting
    * Confident presenting financial information to senior stakeholders and boards
    * Experience managing audits and complex financial compliance requirements
    * Commercially minded, with the ability to add value beyond the numbers
    * Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating closely with senior leaders
    * Aligned with a purpose‑led organisation and its values
