What You’ll Do
As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will play a leading role in delivering complex defence and cyber programmes, ensuring robust systems engineering practices are applied across the full lifecycle.
You will:
* Lead systems engineering activities across major work packages, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification
* Support Engineering Project Leads in delivering technical outcomes aligned to programme plans
* Define and develop high-quality technical solutions to complex engineering challenges
* Ensure stakeholder and system requirements are fully captured, validated, and realised
* Produce and maintain key systems engineering artefacts across the product lifecycle
* Contribute to design assurance, technical reviews, and compliance with customer and regulatory expectations
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to systems engineering teams
What We’re Looking For
Were looking for a strong Systems engineer OR IVVQ Engineer,
Essential Experience:
* Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or relevant Defence/Aerospace experience
* Strong background in Systems Engineering and lifecycle development (V-model and related methodologies)
* Proven experience delivering high-quality requirements and compliant system designs
* Demonstrable application of ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 or equivalent standards
* Experience leading or mentoring systems engineering teams
* Strong technical documentation and formal review experience
* Working knowledge of DOORS, UML, SysML, and Enterprise Architect
* Background in hardware, software, or firmware development (ideally embedded systems)
Desirable:
* INCOSE certification (ASEP / CSEP)
* Experience as a technical SME in complex engineering environments
* Familiarity with NCSC security standards and associated security artefacts
