How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Domestic Heating Engineer
    Covering Guilford and the Home Counties 
    £40,000 - £50,000 + Call Out + Overtime

    Are you a Domestic Gas Service & Maintenance Engineer looking to join a company that genuinely values its staff and offers real career progression?

    This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading Commercial Services provider known for its positive culture, strong reputation, and commitment to developing its engineers. The company also offers the chance to progress into Commercial Gas qualifications, fully funded.

    As a Domestic Heating Engineer, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of sites including privately owned domestic properties, schools, and care homes.

    Key Responsibilities

    Service and repair domestic gas appliances using appropriate tools and equipment
    Carry out gas safety inspections and ensure compliance with current regulations
    Diagnose and resolve faults with strong mechanical and technical knowledge
    Provide excellent customer service when dealing with tenants and clients
    Maintain accurate job records and manage stock/materials efficiently
    Work safely and in line with company health & safety procedures Requirements

    Current Domestic ACS Certificates (CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, etc.)
    Minimum 3 years' experience in boiler fault finding and repairs
    Strong problem-solving ability with a customer-focused approach
