Freight Forwarder

Nelson Recruitment are currently URGENTLY recruiting for a Customs Clearance Clerk / Shipping Operative on behalf of their client based in Tyseley, Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced customs professional to join a growing and well-established operation.

Location: Tyseley, Birmingham
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm
Salary: £29,000 – £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Role Overview

* Processing CDS import and export entries (essential requirement)

* Handling road freight (EU) and/or deep-sea shipments

* Managing customs documentation and ensuring full compliance

* Supporting shipping operations across European and/or deep-sea movements

* Liaising with internal teams, freight forwarders, and external stakeholders

Key Requirement

* Proven, hands-on CDS customs clearance experience is mandatory

Skills & Experience

* Previous experience in customs clearance and shipping operations

* Strong understanding of customs procedures and compliance

* Experience with EU road freight and/or deep-sea shipping

* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
