How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * £45,000 – £55,000 per annum (experience‑dependent)

    * Overtime paid at 1.5x rate

    * Door‑to‑door pay and on‑call/standby allowance

    * Field‑based role with frequent UK travel and regular overnight stays (accommodation and subsistence provided)

    * Standard working pattern: Monday–Friday (day shift), with flexibility around project demands

    * Generous holiday package with the option to purchase/sell annual leave

    * Award‑winning training, professional development and clear progression pathways

    * Life assurance and contributory pension scheme

    * Retail discounts and employee recognition awards

    * All tools, PPE and calibrated test equipment provided

    * Supportive culture with a strong focus on safety and wellbeing

    Responsibilities

    Install, commission and maintain critical power equipment on customer sites, including generators, loadbanks (AC/DC, resistive/reactive), BESS, UPS systems, transformers and power distribution equipment.

    * Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM), diagnostics, repairs and modifications; complete load/function tests and final sign‑off to ensure 100% operational readiness, with accurate job cards, service reports and test certificates.

    * Conduct site surveys and prepare/adhere to RAMS; ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and use of appropriate PPE.

    * Coordinate with project managers, depot and yard teams to prepare, kit and mobilise equipment for specific projects; verify that all components are present and correct.

    * Fault‑find and troubleshoot equipment issues on site, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs.

    * Provide high‑quality technical support and customer service on site; assist with parts sourcing and manage van‑stock/spares as required.

    * Participate in rota‑based out‑of‑hours support and respond to time‑critical call‑outs when required.

    Requirements (what you’ll bring)

    * Proven field service/installation/maintenance experience in power generation, critical power or a related electrical field (3+ years preferred).

    * Strong electrical background with the ability to read schematics and fault‑find on complex three‑phase systems.

    * Hands‑on experience with at least some of: generators, loadbanks, transformers, UPS systems, PDUs and associated cabling/connectors.

    * Competent with electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers) and confident producing service documentation.

    * Proactive problem‑solver with excellent attention to detail and strong ownership of quality and safety.

    * Full, valid driver’s licence and comfortable with extensive travel and regular overnight stays.
