How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently looking for a Highways Clerk of Works. You will be working in Hammersmith.

    Monday - Friday

    09:00am - 17:00pm

    Temp Contract - Ongoing

    Day rate - £300per day umbrella

    Job Purpose

    * To supervise contractors and oversee all construction activities, ensuring compliance with the Street-smart Design Guide, work orders, drawings, specifications, highway construction standards, and Project Engineers’ instructions.

    * To ensure compliance by verifying that all construction activities meet relevant environmental and construction regulations, as well as local permitting requirements.

    * To ensure quality control through regular inspections of materials, workmanship, and construction processes, maintaining high standards throughout the project.

    * To ensure health and safety measures are implemented and enforced, with all on-site safety protocols followed to maintain a safe working environment for construction workers and the public.

    * To ensure traffic management at work sites is correctly implemented, maintaining full compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, and Traffic Management Act 2004.

    * To manage traffic signs and carriageway markings within all works, ensuring compliance with Traffic Management Orders, Department for Transport regulations, and the Street-smart Design Guide.

    * To attend public highway work sites daily and conduct site surveys and inspections in live traffic environments, in accordance with NRSWA 1991, the Traffic Management Act, and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, as directed by line management.

    * To meet with developers when necessary to ensure compliance with the Highways Act in the construction of their works and to assess their requirements.
