Assistant Quantity Surveyor

The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Junior Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a growing and forward-thinking construction and engineering business.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the early stages of their career to develop within a supportive commercial team, gaining exposure to a wide range of projects across the healthcare and specialist construction sectors. You will work closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors and Project Teams, supporting the commercial management of projects while building your knowledge across both pre and post-contract activities.
The Role
In this role, you will assist in the day-to-day commercial running of projects, ensuring processes are followed and costs are effectively monitored. You will support the preparation of subcontract tender packages, review quotations, and help with the placement and administration of subcontract orders.
You will also be involved in measuring works, assisting with valuations, and supporting the management of subcontractor accounts, including processing applications and payments. As part of your development, you will gain exposure to variations and cost reporting, helping to ensure projects remain commercially controlled.
Alongside this, you will attend site visits and meetings with senior team members, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the preparation of client valuations and invoices. This is very much a learning-focused role, where you will be guided and supported by experienced commercial professionals.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is keen to build a career in Quantity Surveying, ideally with a relevant qualification or working towards one. You may have some industry experience through a placement or previous role, but just as important is a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Good communication skills, basic IT proficiency (particularly Excel), and a genuine interest in construction and commercial processes will be key to success in this role.
