How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teaching Assistant (Personal Care) - Chorley (PR7)

    Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant

    Location: Chorley, Lancashire (PR7)

    Salary: £95.00 - £115.00 per day (Weekly Pay)

    Contract: Full-Time, Monday - Friday (08:30 - 15:30)

    Status: Temporary to Permanent

    The Opportunity

    Are you a compassionate individual looking for a stable, long-term role in an SEN school in Chorley? We are seeking a General Class Teaching Assistant to support a group of pupils with complex needs.

    This role is ideal for someone who is patient, hands-on, and dedicated to pupil welfare. Because this is a Temp-to-Perm position, you will have the opportunity to ensure the school is the right fit for you before committing to a permanent contract.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Classroom Support: Assist the teacher in delivering sensory-based and adapted lessons for pupils with SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).

    Personal Care (Essential): Confidently assist pupils with daily personal care needs, including toileting, changing, and feeding.

    Manual Handling: Support pupils with physical disabilities using hoists or mobility aids (training provided where necessary).

    Behavior Management: Use de-escalation techniques to support pupils with SEMH or sensory processing needs.

    Requirements for the Role

    Location: Must be able to commute to Chorley daily for an 08:30 start.

    Experience: Previous experience in care, nursing, or SEN education is highly valued.

    Demeanor: A "can-do" attitude and a high level of empathy.

    Compliance: You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be prepared to process a new one immediately.
