ANZUK Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lewisham seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from an immediate start. This full-time role offers the opportunity to support across the school and occasionally cover classes, ensuring pupils continue to receive high-quality learning in the absence of the class teacher.
The school is known for its inclusive ethos and strong focus on staff development, creating an environment where HLTAs are supported to grow and take on additional responsibilities.
This HLTA role in Lewisham would suit experienced Teaching Assistants or existing HLTAs who are confident delivering lessons and managing classroom behaviour effectively.
Key Responsibilities of HLTA:
Support teaching and learning across the primary phase.
Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups.
Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, behaviour and engagement.
Support pupils’ social, emotional and personal development.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold a HLTA qualification or equivalent experience (essential).
Have experience working within a primary school setting.
Be confident leading whole-class learning when required.
Demonstrate strong understanding of the National Curriculum.
Maintain high expectations for pupil progress and behaviour.
Show a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
