How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

At Dalkia Scotland, we’re delivering smart, sustainable technical solutions that make a real difference. We’re now looking for an M&E Clerk of Works to join our QSHE team and provide independent site-based quality assurance across our projects.

    What you’ll be doing

    • Act as an independent inspector of mechanical and electrical works across live projects
    • Ensure installations are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, standards, and client requirements
    • Carry out regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, materials, and compliance

    • Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records and site reports
    • Work closely with project, commercial, and operational teams to drive quality standards on site
    • Monitor and report on quality issues, trends, and risks
    • Witness testing and commissioning activities where required

    What we’re looking for

    • Strong background in Mechanical or Electrical building services (e.g. Electrician, Plumber, Supervisor, Site Manager)
    • Proven experience working on construction or M&E projects
    • Excellent knowledge of site installations, drawings, and industry standards
    • CSCS card (essential)
    • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, quality-focused approach
    • Confident working independently on site and reporting findings
    • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders
    • Experience using Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools is desirable
    • Professional memberships (CIBSE, IET, etc.) desirable but not essential

    Why Dalkia?

    • Be part of a forward-thinking, sustainability-led organisation
    • Work on technically interesting, high-impact projects
    • Opportunity to move into a more quality-focused role away from the tools
    • Supportive team environment with opportunities to develop
