GMP Recruitment Agency Ltd are proud to be working in partnership with a highly reputable, multinational aerospace organisation to recruit an experienced Senior Quality Engineer for their Worcester-based facility. This is a unique opportunity that blends Quality Engineering with Key Account Management. The successful candidate will take ownership of a single, high-value aerospace client, acting as the dedicated point of contact and ensuring exceptional service delivery, quality performance, and relationship management.
The Role This position is as much about account management as it is about quality engineering. You will act as the face of the business for a key customer, managing all quality-related interactions, leading communication, and building a trusted partnership. You will be responsible for maintaining customer confidence through proactive quality management, clear communication, and high-level presentation of performance and improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the primary point of contact for a key, high-value client
* Build and maintain a strong, professional relationship, effectively managing the account from a quality perspective
* Lead and deliver customer presentations (PowerPoint), including performance reviews, investigations, and improvement plans
* Manage customer audits, visits, and quality reviews with a polished and professional approach
* Lead responses to customer quality issues, including 8D reports and corrective actions
* Oversee and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with aerospace standards
* Participate in and support contract review processes, ensuring quality requirements are clearly defined and delivered
* Drive corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) across the business
* Analyse and present quality data and KPIs, providing clear insight to both internal teams and the customer
* Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain to resolve issues and drive improvements
* Support supplier quality activities where required
* Mentor junior team members and promote a culture of quality excellence Key Requirements
* Proven experience in a Senior Quality Engineer role within aerospace or a highly regulated engineering environment
* Strong experience in a customer-facing / account management-style role, managing key client relationships
* Ability to take ownership of a key account, acting as a trusted advisor and representative of the business
* Demonstrable experience across core problem-solving disciplines, including: Quality Management Systems (QMS) Contract Review Corrective & Preventative Actions (CAPA) Root Cause Analysis (8D, Six Sigma, Lean methodologies)
* Excellent presentation and communication skills, with strong proficiency in PowerPoint – this is a critical part of the role
* In-depth knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 standards
* Experience leading customer audits and managing customer quality concerns
* Degree in a STEM discipline (Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, etc.) or a relevant apprenticeship with demonstrable industry experience
* A qualification in Mathematics or Physics is advantageous but not essential; however, a strong practical understanding of both is required
* Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) advantageous What’s on Offer
