How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Assembler
    Location: Poole and Bournemouth
    Salary: £26000 - £32000 DOE

    An established and growing engineering business is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join its production team. The organisation operates within a specialist manufacturing environment, delivering high-quality mechanical and electronic systems used in demanding and safety-critical settings worldwide.

    The Role as Mechanical Assembler

    You will be responsible for assembling mechanical components and sub-assemblies, ensuring all products are built accurately and meet strict quality requirements. The role involves working from technical drawings, using a variety of hand and power tools, and carrying out checks to ensure consistency and performance.

    Key Responsibilities as Mechanical Assembler

    Assemble mechanical parts and sub-assemblies in line with engineering specifications
    Interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and assembly instructions
    Use hand tools and light machinery to complete assembly tasks
    Carry out quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards
    Support basic maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment where required
    Work efficiently to meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    Adhere to all health and safety procedures at all times
    Assist with additional tasks as required by the wider production teamAbout You

    Previous experience in a mechanical assembly or similar hands-on role
    Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
    Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
