How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Exciting fresh openings with a worldwide market leading multinational engineering company working with clients in the automotive, scientific, pharmaceutical, electronics, renewable energy, consumer products and food processing industries are seeking Graduate Mechanical Design Engineers to design all aspects of new products.
    Based in Milton Keynes.

    THE ROLE
    The Graduate Mechanical Engineer role involves reviewing requests for customised existing automation and pneumatic products from the sales team to ensure specification is clear and viable; working with a talented team of Mechanical Design Engineers to create concept designs of customised existing products to meet customer's request; creating detailed parts drawings for prototype testing with designer; carrying out testing of pneumatic and automation products; being responsible for ensuring timely completion of own projects; participation on larger projects with supervision from senior Engineer; providing technical product support to European parts of the business; occasionally visiting customers in Europe to determine technical requirements for special products; participating in technical market research activities and providing technical support concerning directives and standards relevant to automation products.
    THE CANDIDATE
    To be considered for this opening of Graduate Mechanical Engineer you must have:-
    * You must have a minimum 2.2 degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Automotive Engineering (BENG or MENG) from a UK university.
    * Experience of managing projects (can be at university).
    * Some experience of working in a design or engineering environment and CAD on a sandwich placement, placement or general work would be good but is not essential.
    * Experience in writing technical reports.
    * Ability to work as part of a multicultural team.
    * Able to travel to European customers when required.
    * Relevant experience. PC skills: minimum MS Word and Excel. Excellent spoken and written English.
    Due to the nature of the work you must have a British Passport or have Proof of Permanent right to work in the UK for this opening our client can not be apply for working visas or work permits at any point in your career with them.
