How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Fire & Security Service & Maintenance Engineer

    Surrey & South London (occasional North London travel)
    £38,000 - £45,000 Basic DOE + Overtime + Vehicle + Package

    We are currently representing a highly respected and rapidly growing Fire & Security provider seeking an experienced Service & Maintenance Engineer to join their established team covering primarily Surrey and South London, with occasional works in North London.

The business continues to invest heavily in its engineers, infrastructure and long term growth strategy.

    The Role

    As a Service & Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, fault finding and repairing a range of Fire and Security systems across an established client portfolio.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Planned preventative maintenance across Fire Alarm, Intruder, CCTV and Access Control systems

    Fault finding and reactive call outs

    Small remedial works and minor upgrades

    Accurate completion of service documentation

    Ensuring compliance with current industry standards and regulations

    Delivering a professional, customer focused service at all times

    Work is predominantly across Surrey and South London, with occasional coverage into North London when required.

    Systems Experience (Desirable)

    Fire alarms including addressable and conventional systems

    CCTV systems including IP based platforms

    Intruder alarms such as Texecom, Galaxy or similar

    Access control systems such as Paxton, ACT or similar

    What We Are Looking For

    Proven experience servicing and maintaining Fire & Security systems

    Strong fault finding ability

    Good knowledge of industry standards

    Full UK driving licence

    Professional and customer focused approach
