How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Commercial Gas Engineer
    Location: Essex & East London (Mobile role)
    Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum + benefits

    Overview:
    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join a reputable and growing Facilities Management company operating across Essex & East London. This is a mobile role, working across a portfolio of commercial sites, delivering both planned and reactive maintenance services.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on commercial gas systems

    * Service, repair, and maintain commercial boilers, heating systems, and associated plant

    * Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs in a timely manner

    * Ensure all work is completed in compliance with current gas safety regulations and company standards

    * Complete accurate job reports and documentation

    * Liaise with clients on-site and provide a high level of customer service

    * Participate in an on-call rota where required

    Requirements:

    * Proven experience working as a Commercial Gas Engineer within a facilities management or building services environment

    * Relevant commercial gas qualifications (e.g. CODNCO1, CIGA1, CORT1, ICPN1, etc.)

    * Full UK driving licence (essential)

    * Valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)

    * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

    * Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

    * Good communication and customer-facing skills
