How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Chief Financial Officer | Kent

We are representing a privately owned, large-scale operational business seeking to appoint a CFO into a pivotal leadership role.

This is a substantial and complex organisation operating across a diverse range of activities. The business has grown considerably and is now seeking an experienced finance leader who can bring greater cohesion across the finance function, improve visibility and decision-making, and support the next stage of profitable growth.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an established Senior Finance Leader ready to step into a broader role, who enjoys operating in fast-paced, operationally led environments and can combine strategic input with strong commercial and financial control.

    The Role

Reporting into the senior leadership team, the CFO will take responsibility for strengthening finance across a sizeable and complex business with multiple moving parts.

Key areas of focus will include:

    • creating a more aligned and effective group finance structure
    • improving the quality, consistency and timeliness of reporting and insight
    • strengthening financial control, governance and performance visibility
    • enhancing cash flow, working capital and balance sheet management
    • supporting stronger commercial understanding across operational activity
    • driving efficiency, better decision-making and finance-led business improvement
    • contributing to strategic planning, growth and broader value creation initiatives

    The Profile

We are interested in speaking with individuals who have:

    • operated at FD or CFO level, or are ready to step into a broader group role
    • experience within large SMEs, operationally intensive, commercially driven businesses
    • a strong understanding of finance in project-, contract- or service-led environments
    • the credibility and presence to operate effectively with senior stakeholders
    • a hands-on, pragmatic and commercially minded approach
    • experience improving finance structures, controls and reporting within complex organisations

    Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a profitable and ambitious organisation at an important point in its journey, where the incoming finance leader will be able to make a visible and lasting impact.

Salary: Competitive base salary, bonus and broader incentive upside.

For a confidential discussion, please get in touch directly.

Important: All candidates will be required to complete The Acuity Measure assessment to be considered for this role.
