How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quantity Surveyor – UK

    Overview

EZO are a leading Charge Point Operator (CPO) delivering EV charging infrastructure across Ireland and, more recently, the UK. As part of our continued expansion, we are building a strong UK delivery team to support the rollout of high-quality, scalable charging solutions across public, commercial, and fleet sectors.

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor with a strong construction background to support the commercial delivery of EV infrastructure projects across the UK. Acting on behalf of the Employer, you will take ownership of cost control, procurement, and—critically—the administration of NEC4 contractual obligations to ensure compliant, efficient, and commercially sound project execution.

    Cost Planning & Procurement

    • Prepare and develop early-stage cost plans, feasibility estimates and order of cost estimates for new EV charging sites, including civil works, electrical infrastructure, DNO connections and charge point equipment.
    • Produce Bills of Quantities, activity schedules and pricing documents to support NEC4 tender processes, ensuring scope is accurately defined and priced.
    • Evaluate contractor tenders, prepare tender reports and provide commercial recommendations to support contract award decisions.
    • Advise on the most appropriate NEC4 contract option (A–F) for each project type, having regard to risk allocation, procurement route and programme requirements.

    Contract Administration & Commercial Management

    • Administer NEC4 commercial obligations on behalf of the Employer, including assessment and certification of payment applications in accordance with the contract.
    • Identify, assess and negotiate compensation events under NEC4 clauses 60–65, ensuring the Employer's position is robustly protected and events are resolved in a timely manner.
    • Maintain the compensation event register, early warning register and risk register across all active projects, reporting status to the project board regularly.
    • Review and challenge contractor Defined Cost submissions and fee calculations under NEC4 cost-reimbursable options, ensuring value for money and compliance with the Schedule of Cost Components.
    • Manage the financial close-out of contracts, agreeing final accounts with contractors and ensuring all commercial records are complete and auditable.

    Cost Control & Reporting

    • Own the project cost tracker for each scheme, monitoring spend against budget, forecasting cost to complete and reporting variances with clear commentary to senior stakeholders.
    • Produce monthly commercial reports covering budget position, committed costs, compensation event exposure, cash flow forecasts and anticipated final cost.
    • Identify commercial risks and opportunities early, escalating material issues to the Head of Commercial or Senior Project Manager as appropriate.
    • Support the development and maintenance of a cost benchmarking database for EV charging works, enabling more accurate feasibility pricing over time.

    Supply Chain & Subcontract Management

    • Support the procurement and management of specialist subcontractors and suppliers, including groundworks contractors, electrical contractors, DNO liaison consultants and charge point equipment providers.
    • Review and assess subcontract pricing, back-to-back terms and variations, ensuring alignment with the main NEC4 contract obligations and protecting the business from commercial exposure.
    • Monitor subcontractor payment applications and ensure timely processing in accordance with the Scheme for Construction Contracts and the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.

    Stakeholder & Programme Support

    • Work closely with project managers and contracts managers to align commercial activity with programme milestones, flagging any cost or scope issues that may affect delivery.
    • Liaise with local authority and landowner stakeholders on commercial matters relating to land agreements, licences and any cost-sharing arrangements associated with publicly funded grant schemes such as LEVI or OZEV programmes.
    • Support the preparation of funding applications and grant claims, providing accurate cost information and evidencing expenditure in line with funder requirements.

    Health, Safety & Compliance

    • Ensure contractor pricing and contract documentation reflect CDM 2015 obligations, including adequate provision for health and safety within tendered costs.
    • Confirm that contractor insurance, bonds and warranties are in place and appropriate for the scope and value of works prior to contract award.
    • Maintain commercial records in compliance with company governance requirements and ensure full audit trails are in place to support any future dispute or adjudication process under NEC4.
