How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Due to an expanding project pipeline, our client is looking for a Consulting Engineer with experience in ICT, Audio‑Visual, Telecoms, and Electronic Security systems to join their enthusiastic and growing specialist team

    About Our Client

Our client is a leading UK and European Building Services consultancy with a strong and growing pipeline of work across ICT, AV, Security, Telecoms, and Digital Buildings.

    What does the role involve?

The specialist team works closely with the wider Building Services consultancy, planning and designing digital, intelligent, and automated solutions across ICT, AV, Telecoms, and Electronic Security, including associated WiredScore and SmartScore certifications.

Alongside a varied UK project portfolio, there is also exposure to an increasing international workload, supporting other offices and business units. The role also offers the opportunity to work towards becoming a WiredScore and SmartScore Accredited Professional.

You will be involved in delivering multiple projects concurrently, either as part of a multi‑disciplinary design team or independently on directly appointed commissions. Projects span the full lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and on‑site consultancy support, across sectors including Residential, Mixed‑Use, Office, and Hospitality.

    Key Responsibilities

Produce consultancy design deliverables in written, verbal, and graphical formats
Engage with clients and design teams during early project stages
Develop high‑level ICT, AV, Security, and Telecom design solutions
Undertake feasibility studies, concept designs, and detailed design coordination
Participate in technical reviews (internal and client‑facing)
    Produce schematics, layouts, and specifications
Review contractor technical submissions against project requirements
Attend project meetings and support site activities, including snagging, testing, and commissioning
Conduct site surveys, witness testing, and technical investigations

    About You

Interest in Building Services Engineering and developing a career within ICT, AV, Security, and Telecoms
3-5 years' relevant experience and a qualification in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline
Understanding of networking technologies (e.g. Cisco, HP)
Knowledge of firewalls, VLANs, IP telephony, and mobile signal solutions (DAS / Small Cell)
Experience producing technical reports, feasibility studies, and specifications
Ability to manage deliverables to deadlines, both technically and commercially
    Strong collaborative and communication skills
    Awareness of Smart Buildings technologies
Some understanding of project governance and financial management
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, BIM, Revit, and CAD
