How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You’ll be part of a highly skilled Professional Services team, working with industry-leading tools and methodologies to shape real-world service improvements across the UK. You’ll be supported by experienced service designers and consultants, given space to develop your analytical and modelling skills, and offered genuine opportunities for progression as the team and business continue to expand.

We are looking for a proactive, analytical Operations Analyst with a passion for data-driven service improvement. You will ideally have experience working with operational data, modelling tools, or service design processes, preferably within local authority, waste management, transport, or other municipal service environments.

You should be comfortable analysing complex datasets, interpreting model outputs, and contributing to structured service design activities. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll work closely with senior designers, clients, and operational teams to ensure models reflect real-world constraints and deliver meaningful insights. A curious mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to translate data into clear, actionable recommendations will set you up for success in this role.

    The Role

The Operations Analyst will play a key role in supporting the design, modelling, and evaluation of local authority waste and municipal services. Working within the Professional Services team and reporting to the Head of Professional Services, you will contribute to the development of service design models, route optimisation exercises, and structured consultancy activities using’s our client’s tools and methodologies.

You will analyse operational data, validate modelling assumptions, and help shape service scenarios that improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service performance for local authority clients. This role involves close collaboration with the Senior Service Designer, client stakeholders, and operational teams, ensuring that modelling outputs are realistic, evidence-based, and aligned with best practice.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Service Modelling & Analysis – Support the development of service design models for local authority waste and municipal services, including routing, depot strategies, and service change scenarios.

    * Scenario Modelling & Impact Assessment – Working with the Senior Service Designer to develop and assess various service scenarios (e.g. depot changes, route redesigns, service frequency adjustments) within local authority contexts

    * Model Validation & Continuous Improvement – Validate service design models with the Senior Service Designer to ensure outputs are realistic, deliverable, and aligned to real-world operational constraints within municipal environments

    * Reporting & Insight Generation – Produce clear, structured outputs translating model results into insights to support decision-making

    * Client Engagement & Challenge – Engage with local authority stakeholders to understand requirements, service constraints, and proposed scenarios.

    * Site Engagement & Operational Discovery – Attend local authority sites to understand service delivery, including depot operations, routing constraints, and crew behaviours

    * Product & Consultancy Support – Contribute to the development and refinement of our client’s products, modelling capabilities, and service design methodologies

    * Project Support & Delivery – Support service design and modelling projects from discovery through to implementation and review

    * Travel & Flexibility – Travel to customer sites across the UK as required

    Ideal Qualifications / Experience

    * Analytical Expertise: Experience working with operational data, modelling tools, or service design processes.

    * Sector Knowledge: Understanding of local authority, waste management, transport, or municipal service operations.

    * Technical Skills: Comfortable working with modelling software, GIS tools, or route optimisation platforms (training provided).

    * Digital Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Office, especially Excel; familiarity with CRM or project tools beneficial.

    * Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills, able to translate data into meaningful insights for stakeholders.

    * Organisation: Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

    * Problem-Solving: Ability to interpret complex operational challenges and contribute to practical, data-driven solutions.

    * Mobility: Willingness to travel to client sites across the UK.

    * Language: Fluent in English
