Role Purpose
To support the smooth daily running of Vibe Café by delivering friendly customer service, preparing food and drinks, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and professionalism in a public-facing council environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
· Deliver warm, friendly and professional service to all customers
· Operate tills accurately and handle cash and card payments responsibly
· Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, appearance and conduct
· Respond positively and politely to customer requests and queries
Food & Beverage Preparation
· Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, light meals and snacks
· Follow approved recipes, portion control and presentation standards
· Support healthier menu options and allergen awareness
Cleanliness & Safety
· Maintain cleanliness of café, kitchen, seating and storage areas
· Follow food safety, allergen and hygiene procedures at all times
· Support daily and weekly cleaning schedules and safety checks
Team Support & Training
· Work cooperatively as part of a small on-site team
· Participate fully in training and development
· Support colleagues during busy periods and maintain team standards
· Remain calm, professional and composed under pressure
Skills & Experience
Essential
· Experience in a café, hospitality or customer-facing role (or strong transferable skills)
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
· Willingness to complete Food Safety training
Desirable
· Previous food handling experience
· Knowledge of allergen awareness
