How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Position: Supply Science Teacher (Secondary)
    Location: Eastbourne
    Hours: 08:30 – 15:30
    Contract Type: Day-to-Day, Short-Term & Long-Term Supply (Part-Time & Full-Time Available)
    Daily Rate: £130–£145 per day for daily supply | Paid to scale for long-term roles with PPA

    We are currently seeking a passionate and adaptable Supply Science Teacher (Secondary) to support schools across Eastbourne. Applications are warmly welcomed from experienced teachers as well as ECTs/NQTs.

    About the Role
    Are you a dedicated Science specialist with a passion for inspiring young people? We are looking for an enthusiastic Supply Science Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).

    This flexible opportunity allows you to work in a variety of secondary school settings, building valuable experience while making a real impact in the classroom.     Key Responsibilities
    • Deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
    • Adapt quickly to different classroom environments and follow each school’s curriculum.
    • Teach across Biology, Chemistry and Physics (specialism welcomed).
    • Maintain strong classroom management and promote a positive learning environment.
    • Monitor and assess pupil progress in line with school policies.1
    • Communicate effectively with staff, pupils and parents where required.

    Requirements
    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
    • Experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting.
    • Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum.
    • Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach.
    • A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
