We're working with a fast-growing, independent plant and tool hire business with a strong presence across the UK and ambitious expansion plans.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire a commercially driven External Hire & Procurement/ Hire Desk Coordinator Specialist to join their busy and dynamic team.

💡 The Opportunity

This is a fast-paced, commercially focused role where the hire Desk Coordinator will take ownership of sourcing equipment externally, negotiating the best rates, and ensuring customers receive everything they need, on time and in full.

If it's not available internally, you'll source it.

You'll play a key role in connecting depots, suppliers, and customers, helping deliver a seamless hire solution through an established rehire (cross-hire) network.

🔧 What You'll Be Doing

Sourcing plant, tools, and equipment from external suppliers
Negotiating competitive rates to control costs and maximise margins
Managing the full hire process from enquiry to completion
Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
Identifying and onboarding new suppliers
Supporting depot teams with fast, reliable solutions
Managing follow-ups, queries, and ensuring administrative accuracy

🎯 What Success Looks Like

Responding to requests quickly (within tight SLAs)
Strong success rate in sourcing and securing hires
Effective cost control through negotiation
High levels of accuracy and minimal backlog

👤 What We're Looking For

Experience within plant hire, tool hire, or a related sector
OR a background in procurement / buying / supply chain
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Highly organised with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
