Design Manager- Wastewater Treatment and Civil Engineering

My client, a market leading Engineering and Environmental Consultancy, who specialise in drainage and infrastructure design, is searching for a Design Manager to lead and manage Wastewater Projects across the Midlands.  

You will be required in the Client office, near Birmingham, twice a week and liaise between Clients and the design team.  Expenses will be covered for travel.  

Applicants are required to have a strong academic background in Civil Engineering and have achieved or are working towards Chartered status.

It is also essential for applicants to have experience working for a UK based Consultancy or Water Company specialising in the design of Clean Water and Wastewater Infrastructure and Non- Infrastructure Projects for Water Companies or Contractors across the UK using Revit and AutoCAD. 

Management experience is also required to manage projects, mentor team members, review and amend technical designs and deal with Client queries.  

All locations will be considered providing you are happy to work from the Client office twice a week.  

As a Senior Civil Design Engineer, you will be required to review, amend and complete calculations and detailed designs for Clean and Potable Water Systems and Wastewater Treatment Facilities across the Midlands.  

You will be based in the Client office and manage projects, manage design teams and liaise with design teams and contractors to facilitate, explain and amend designs, ensuring Client expectations are met.     

As a Design Manager you will be expected to complete the following;

-Review and amend calculations and detailed designs for Clean and Potable Water Systems.

-Design and review for Pumping Stations.

-Review and amend CSO and Pressure Pipes, water Retaining Structures and detailed designs of Wastewater Treatment Facilities using AutoCAD, Revit and Civils 3D.  

-Mentor and support team members.

-Attend site visits with contractors and clients, when needed to discuss design issues and clashes.   

-Frequent Client meetings to discuss designs, design issues and project progress.
