How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Role Description


    PLAY WORKER


    Do you love working with children? Are you a TA at a school, looking for extra hours? Are you a student looking for work that fits around your studies? You may have found the perfect fit! Teachsport are looking for experienced, skilled Play Workers to join our team in the Brockley/Deptford area.

    This is a part-time position, hours are for After School care during term-time 2.45-6pm, ranging from 3 to 5 days per week. There may be an opportunity to work extra hours during the school holidays at one of our activity camp venues.

    Teachsport are a small local employer, who are committed to their team of staff. All staff are employed properly, and we pay London Living Wage as a minimum.


    Job summary: Support the day-to-day activities of the club

    Provide quality play care within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures

    Line manager: Setting Manager

    Working relationships: Children attending the setting and their parents/carers

    Management and staff, including students and volunteers

    School staff and registering authorities

    Main duties include:

    · Support the planning, preparing and delivery of quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.

    · Providing comprehensive care for the children including collecting them from their classrooms and delivering them safely to parents or carers.

    · Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment.

    · Preparing, providing & clearing up refreshments and snacks, ensuring that hygiene & health and safety standards are met.

    · Administering and recording first aid when necessary.

    · Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.

    · Helping with club administration, where necessary.

    · Encouraging parental involvement in the club.

    · Facilitating good communication with all members of the organisation, parents, and schools.

    · Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.

    · Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure.

    · Working within the EYFS Ofsted framework and the club’s policies and procedures.


    Person specification

    Essential qualities

    · Experience of working with 4 to 11 year olds

    · Understanding the varied needs of children and their families

    · Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and practices

    · Enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude

    · Imaginative and contributes ideas

    · Good communication skills

    · Able to work as part of a co-operative team

    · Sound judgement and common sense

    · Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children*

    · An Enhanced DBS check for working with children, within the past 3 years

    · Minimum Safeguarding Level 1 certificate, within past year

    . Minimum Level 2 Childcare/Play Work qualification

    · Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate, within past 3 years

    · Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2 Certificate, within past 3 years

    · Prevent Training, within past year
