How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We’re on the lookout for a proactive, site-focused Health & Safety Advisor to play a key part in keeping our construction projects safe, efficient, and successful.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who truly understands how construction sites operate - someone who enjoys being out on-site, working alongside teams, and finding practical solutions to real challenges.

    You’ll be at the heart of our projects, helping to embed safe working practices by collaborating with site teams, guiding rather than policing, and turning compliance into a shared goal rather than a tick-box exercise.

    If you take pride in helping teams work safely and efficiently, and you’re motivated by seeing real results on-site, we’d love to hear from you.

    Company Benefits:

    * 20 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays, increasing by one additional day per completed year of service up to a maximum of 25 days

    * Pension entitlement

    * Ongoing investment in training and professional development

    * Free private on-site parking

    Key responsibilities:

    Site Support

    * Regularly visit sites to support project managers, supervisors and operatives in implementing safe working practices.

    * Provide practical guidance to site teams on managing risk.

    * Work collaboratively with site management to solve safety issues.

    Audits & Inspections

    * Carry out site inspections and audits, focusing on real risk rather than minor paperwork issues.

    * Identify improvements that reduce risk without slowing projects unnecessarily.

    Risk Management

    * Assist with preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

    * Ensure safety systems are clear, usable and proportionate for site teams.

    Incident Investigation

    * Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses.

    * Identify practical corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

    Culture & Training

    * Promote a positive safety culture across the business.

    * Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings.

    * Support managers and supervisors in improving site safety standards.

    What we are looking for:

    Essential

    * NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate

    * Minimum 8-10 years construction industry experience

    * Good knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015

    * Experience carrying out site inspections and practical safety support

    * Strong communication skills and the ability to work with site teams

    * Full UK driving licence

    The Right Candidate Will

    * Be practical and solution-focused, not purely paperwork-driven

    * Understand the realities of construction sites and project delivery

    * Be confident working with site managers, subcontractors and operatives

    * Focus on managing real risk rather than minor compliance issues

    Desirable

    * SMSTS or SSSTS

    * IOSH membership

    * Experience working with SME contractors
