How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Dimensions is looking for a Female Support Worker to join our friendly team in Darlington, supporting a lady and a gentleman to live active, fulfilling and independent lives. If you’re someone who shares our values and loves bringing positivity into people’s lives, we’d love to hear from you.

    We are currently recruiting for a part-time position (32 hours per week). Shifts will include a mixture of:

    15:00–21:0015:00–18:0009:00–23:00 + sleep-in followed by 07:00 - 09:00

    We are looking for someone who is confident around PBS principles and familiar with the use of PRN support strategies, including knowing when and how to apply them appropriately and safely. Full training will be provided, including refreshers on PBS, PRN protocols, behaviours of distress and self-injury, but prior experience is preferred.

    The people we support are in their 50s and 60s. They have learning disabilities, and one person has Down’s Syndrome. They live full, happy lives and are looking for a Support Worker who can help them enjoy the things they love, such as:

    Attending a day centre
    Swimming
    Visiting a favourite social club
    Listening to music
    Spending time with family and friends
    Trips out for coffee and cake
    Enjoying relaxing downtime at home

    One of the people we support is very lively, loud and sociable. She loves being the centre of attention and responds best to upbeat, positive staff. Clear communication and distraction techniques are already in place to support her.

    She would also like you to know that she uses a wheelchair for mobility.

    What Will I Be Doing

    As a Support Worker, you will empower both individuals to live the life they choose. Your role will include:

    Supporting with personal care
    Helping with shopping, finances and household tasks
    Assisting with cooking and meal preparation
    Encouraging independence and building confidence
    Providing safe and supportive transport to activities

    Both people we support have their own vehicles, so a full UK/EU manual driving licence is essential.
