About the role:
The main purpose of the role is to carry out both programmed and responsive refuse & recycling collections on a daily basis as per the contract requirement and specification.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the loading of Waste into the vehicle.
Responsible for the daily inspection and reporting procedure for machinery prior to and on completion of use.
Report progress and/or any matters which arise affecting delivery of service.
Maintain contact with the Supervisor notifying of any delays or missed collections.
Ensure that correct PPE is worn at all times.
Report any dangerous situation, occurrences, accidents, incidents or near misses to the Office immediately.
Work as part of the team to ensure that all allocated work is completed within the Working Day.
Assist the driver with directing vehicle manoeuvres. This will involve vacating the vehicle and clearly directing the driver in a safe and compliant manner.
Represent the Company in the public eye and behave in an appropriate and professional manner.
Report all accidents and incidents immediately to your fleet office or the Compliance Team and obtain details as required.
Staff have a duty to take care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions at work.Staff must co-operate, report unsafe conditions and comply with the company management systems and safe systems of work as well as co-workers to help everyone meet their legal requirements.
