Overview
I am currently recruiting for a Head of Therapies to work with my client in Maidenhead.
This is a senior leadership position within a specialist SEN school, ideal for an experienced therapist looking to step into or continue in a strategic leadership role.
You will lead a large, multidisciplinary therapy team including Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Art Therapists and Therapy Assistants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic services across the school.
The school adopts an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) approach to support students and places strong emphasis on a collaborative, child-centred model of care.
As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a key role in shaping the school's strategic direction, developing therapy provision, and ensuring alignment with wider educational and clinical priorities.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop the therapy service across the school in line with strategic goals
Provide leadership and line management to the therapy team, including appraisals and mentorship
Work as part of the Senior Leadership Team to drive school-wide development and policy implementation
Oversee universal, targeted, and individualised therapy provision
Ensure all therapeutic practices meet legal, ethical, and professional standards
Monitor service impact through data and use insights to inform future planning
Support staff training and promote a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach
Manage therapy-related concerns from parents and contribute to strong home-school partnerships
Maintain high standards of quality assurance across all therapeutic input
Contribute to budget management and resource planning for therapiesRequirements
Qualified therapist (e.g. Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, or other AHP)
Significant post-qualification experience within an SEN or school setting
Previous leadership or management experience within a therapy team
HCPC registered
Strong understanding of multidisciplinary working and therapeutic service delivery
Experience working within or alongside ABA frameworks is desirable
Clear DBS (or willingness to obtain one)What's on offer
