How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job Title: Apprentice Production Chef - Derbyshire

    Salary/Hourly Rate: £14.50 Per Hour

    Location: Derbyshire, Ashbourne, DE6 1HA

    Reporting to: Unit Manager

    Hours/Working Pattern: 30 hours per week (Monday - Friday 3pm - 9pm)

Contractual Requirements: (e.g., Candidates must be aged 18+)

We're currently recruiting for an ambitious Apprentice to join our team and help deliver exceptional experiences on a part time, contracted to 30 hours per week.

Dine Contract Catering is looking for a dependable and motivated Evening Cook to support evening food service operations. This role involves preparing and reheating meals, serving customers, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service within a contract catering environment.

As an apprentice Apprentice Production Chef, you will work alongside a passionate and supportive team, gaining hands-on experience while developing your skills through structured training. In return, you'll have the opportunity to progress your career with a company that invests in its people, celebrates individuality, and rewards and recognises employees who go above and beyond.

On completion of the Apprenticeship, you will achieve the Production Chef L2 and become a qualified Apprentice Production Chef.

    Your Key Responsibilities will include:

Prepare and reheat meals in line with company recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines

Carry out basic cooking tasks, such as frying chips and preparing simple menu items

Serve customers confidently and courteously, providing a friendly and helpful experience

Operate the till, handling cash and card payments accurately

Refill and look after vending machines, ensuring they are well‑stocked and clean

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, keeping kitchen, service, and dining areas tidy and hygienic at all times

Follow all health, safety, and food hygiene procedures to ensure a safe environment for customers and colleagues

    Our Ideal Apprentice Will:

Have an interest in catering or food service – previous kitchen or catering experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided

Be willing to learn basic food preparation and cooking skills, following instructions and recipes

Demonstrate good customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and positive attitude

Be comfortable handling cash and using tills, or keen to learn (experience is an advantage, not a requirement)

Be reliable and punctual, with the flexibility to work evening shifts where required

Be able to work both independently and as part of a team, supporting colleagues when needed

    Benefits Package

We ensure you're rewarded for all your hard work, which is why we offer a comprehensive benefits package including (but not limited to):
