How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Do you have the skills to inspire young learners and help them grow in confidence? Are you an experienced teacher who enjoys working closely with communities to make a real difference?
    The Westway Trust is a unique charity rooted in North Kensington. We are looking for an After-school Teacher to support children from the Traveller community through high-quality, engaging learning.
    The role
    This is a part-time, term-time position delivering after-school teaching to children up to age 8. You will focus on improving attainment in reading, writing and spelling, working mostly one-to-one with some small group sessions.
    You will play a key role in supporting children’s progress while helping to shape and grow this provision in line with community needs.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Deliver engaging out-of-school teaching across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
    * Support children’s learning using a range of approaches, including ICT
    * Work closely with the Traveller Teacher/mentor to share progress and plan support
    * Keep accurate records of sessions and children’s development
    * Provide clear feedback on progress where needed
    * Build positive relationships with families to support learning at home
    * Set up and clear down teaching spaces
    * Follow safeguarding policies at all times
    About our company
    The Westway Trust stewards 23 acres of space under the A40, supporting a vibrant community in North Kensington. With over one million visitors each year, our estate includes green spaces, charities, businesses and cultural facilities.
    We work closely with local people and organisations to create opportunities that support social, environmental and economic wellbeing.
    The Benefits
    * Term-time working (39 weeks per year)
    * Opportunity to make a meaningful local impact
    * Supportive and community-focused environment
    The person
    You will be a qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with experience across early years or primary education.
    You should also have:
    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    * An understanding of safeguarding practices
    * Experience supporting children with additional needs
    * Confidence using ICT to support learning
    * The ability to keep clear and accurate records
    * A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
    Experience working with Traveller communities is welcome but not essential.
    What’s next
    If you are ready to support young learners and be part of a valued community initiative, we would love to hear from you—please apply today
