Hotbox Driver

Bridgeman Recruitment Services (Agency) require a Hotbox Driver to operate a hotbox vehicle and support highway and utility teams in carrying out safe, compliant, and efficient road repairs and reinstatement works.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

* Drive and operate a hotbox (heated asphalt) vehicle to various job sites

* Maintain correct temperature and quality of asphalt for use in repairs

* Deliver and supply hot material for:

* Pothole repairs

* Trench reinstatements

* Temporary/permanent road repairs

* Assist ground crews with:

* Laying and compacting asphalt

* Preparing surfaces

* Backfilling excavations

* Carry out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance

* Ensure compliance with New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 requirements

* Follow site safety procedures including:

* Signing, lighting, and guarding

* Traffic management awareness

* Complete job sheets, delivery logs, and paperwork accurately

🧑‍🏭 Skills & Experience

* Previous experience in:

* Highways maintenance OR

* Utility streetworks

* Good understanding of asphalt handling and road repair methods

* Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

* Team player with good communication skills

📋 Requirements

* Valid UK driving licence (often Class 2 / HGV)

* Streetworks (NRSWA) certification

* Basic health & safety knowledge

* CSCS card
