How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Remote (with ad‑hoc travel to Telford)
    Contract Length: 3-6 months (Statement of Work)

    About the Role

    We are seeking an experienced Mobile App Technical Lead (SFIA Level 6) to guide and manage a high‑performing development team delivering complex mobile solutions. This role is ideal for a seasoned technical leader with strong hands‑on knowledge across both iOS and Android and a background in large‑scale, highly regulated digital environments.

    You will provide both technical direction and line management to mobile developers, ensuring the delivery of a secure, high‑quality, user‑focused mobile application.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead and mentor a cross‑platform mobile development team
    Provide expert technical guidance across iOS and Android
    Oversee architecture decisions, code quality, and engineering best practice
    Ensure mobile application development aligns with organisational standards and regulatory requirements
    Collaborate closely with product, security, and wider technology teams
    Drive continuous improvement and promote modern engineering techniques

    Essential Experience

    Proven experience as a Technical Lead within mobile app development
    Strong knowledge of both iOS and Android ecosystems
    Experience delivering mobile solutions within complex, multi‑stakeholder environments
    Background working in high‑security or highly regulated digital settings
    Demonstrable leadership skills: coaching, mentoring, performance management
    Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical direction

    Additional Requirements

    BPSS clearance (or ability to obtain)
    Flexibility to travel occasionally to Telford
    Salary description

    £625.00 - £626.00 per day
