How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

April 2026: The summer term - Teaching Rush - Primary Supply Roles

Secure Your Foot in the Door for September 2026 Permanent Posts

Locations: Kirkham, Warton, and Freckleton (Primary Schools)

    Start Date: April 2026

    Daily Rate: £130 - £260 (Experience Dependent)

Are you looking for a career reset or a strategic move toward a new permanent role in September 2026?

The Summer term is the busiest month in the academic calendar. Schools across Kirkham, Warton, and Freckleton are hitting peak demand, making this the absolute best time to join the supply pool. By starting in March, you position yourself as a known, trusted face just as the May resignation deadline approaches giving you the "inside track" for permanent vacancies starting in the new academic year.

Why March is the Strategic Choice for Your Career:

Maximum Work Volume: March is historically our busiest period; we can offer consistent, local work that fits your schedule.

The "September Strategy": Most permanent September vacancies are triggered by May resignations. Getting into schools now means you are first in line when those roles open up.

Trial Before You Commit: Use the flexibility of supply to "test drive" different schools in the FY4 and PR4 areas before committing to a long-term contract.

Work-Life Balance: Enjoy the freedom of the villages of Kirkham and Freckleton without the unpaid overtime of a full-time post.

    The Role: Primary Supply Teacher

Tradewind Education is seeking enthusiastic Qualified Teachers (QTS) to join our elite pool for the March peak. Whether you prefer EYFS, KS1, or KS2, we have varied assignments ranging from daily emergency cover to planned long-term blocks.

    Key Responsibilities:

Delivering engaging lessons across the primary age range.

Maintaining high standards of classroom management and pupil engagement.

Adapting quickly to different school environments in close-knit village settings.

Ensuring continuity of learning and following school safeguarding protocols.

    Why Teachers Choose Tradewind:

Top Rates of Pay: We advocate for your worth, offering £130-£161 per day.

Premium CPD: Free access to 2,500+ accredited courses via The National College to keep your skills sharp for September interviews.

Well-being First: Proudly a Sunday Times Top 100 Employer for four consecutive years.

Local Expertise: We focus on Kirkham, Warton, and Freckleton, ensuring your commute is minimal.

    Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

A proven track record of reliability and professional conduct.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

A passion for education and a flexible "can-do" attitude.

    How to Apply:

Don't wait for the May rush get ahead of the curve this March.
