How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Gain specialist engineering knowledge and become a go-to expert for your customers and colleagues.

    Your role will start with thorough classroom-based training, tailored to you, where you’ll learn all about the company’s engineering products to provide the very best advice to your customers.

    You’ll provide technical engineering support to customers over the phone, as well as help your colleagues with technical advice.

    You’ll develop your problem-solving skills by supporting engineers from your desk to diagnose technical issues with installations and repairs off-site.

    You’ll be further supported to develop your technical knowledge by working on business projects and taking on additional responsibilities. In time, your expertise will make you a valued member of this technical team.

    What you’ll do

    You’ll provide technical engineering support to customers by phone, helping them to diagnose and resolve faults, and provide installation support. You’ll also support internal teams by providing technical advice for sales quotations and product solutions.

    What you’ll need

    * You’ll have A‑Levels (or equivalent) – having studied a STEM subject would be a helpful for the logical problem solving required in the role.

    * Curiosity and a technical mindset – to learn about specialist engineering products.

    * Good customer service skills and a great telephone manner – you’ll be talking to customers over the phone who need urgent and immediate help.

    Hours

    You’ll work 40 hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
