How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Workshop Engineer

    Cannock, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Stafford, Lichfield, Telford

    £41,600 + Days Based (8:00am to 16:30pm) + Training + Overtime + Progression Opportunities Into Senior Positions + Company Benefits

    Do you have experience working with hydraulics and are able to read and understand technical drawings? Are you looking to join a growing company, offering excellent training and progression opportunities?

    On offer is an exciting opportunity to work within a small but rapidly growing business, in a varied role where you will receive excellent in house training on rail equipment, whilst also having regular access to overtime, in order to boost your earnings.

    This ambitious company are going from strength to strength and have exciting plans for growth in 2026. They are looking for a committed, skilled technician to join their small but cohesive and professional engineering workshop.

    In this role, you will be building, maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment to be used in the rail and construction industry. The role is workshop based and offers excellent opportunities to progress into senior leadership positions as the company grows, and to further your development through training on rail systems.

    The ideal candidate for this role would be a skilled engineer, with experience working with hydraulic systems and have an understanding of technical drawings. You will be familiar with construction equipment and have a drive to self-develop.

    The Role:
    *Workshop Engineer
    *Building, maintaining and repairing mechanical systems and rebuilding projects
    *Working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 16:30pm
    *Excellent training on rail systems, as well as opportunities to progress into senior positions as the company grows
    *Regular Overtime available to boost earnings

    The Person:
    *Experience working with hydraulic systems, who is familiar and comfortable with reading and interpreting drawings/schematics
    *NVQ Level 2 in plant maintenance or equivalent
    *Ability to read basic hydraulic and electrical schematics
