How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electronics Engineer
    Guildford, Surrey
    £40,000 - £45,000 + Holidays + Pension + Life Assurance + Career Development

    Excellent opportunity for an Electronics / Electrical Engineer to join a global technology engineering business, supporting the development of advanced electronic control systems used in commercial products.

    This company is a well-established leader in its field, delivering innovative and reliable solutions across international markets. With continued growth and investment in engineering, they are looking to expand their Engineering team with a motivated and hands-on engineer.

    In this role, you will support the design, testing, and continuous improvement of electronic systems, working across hardware and embedded software integration. You will be involved in fault finding, root cause analysis, and validation activities, contributing to the development of robust and high-quality products within a regulated environment.

    The ideal candidate will have a foundation in electronics or electrical engineering, with experience in circuit analysis, testing, and embedded systems. You will be comfortable working with lab equipment, interpreting schematics, and supporting cross-functional engineering teams. Any experience with microcontrollers, Python, or communication protocols would be beneficial.

    The Role:

    - Support design and reliability improvement of electronic systems and PCB assemblies
    - Investigate faults and perform root cause analysis on electronic components
    - Develop and execute test procedures for PCB and system-level verification
    - Support integration of hardware and software subsystems into final products
    - Collaborate with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams
    - Assist with software testing where hardware interaction is required
    - Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes

    The Person:

    - Understanding of circuit schematics, PCB layouts, and electronic components
    - Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters
    - Knowledge of embedded systems and hardware/software interaction
    - Basic experience with microcontrollers (such as ARM or PIC)
    - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
    - Structured and methodical approach to engineering tasks
