The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established, independent community pharmacy in Edinburgh and Glasgow, known for its patient-focused approach and strong ties to the local community. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated pharmacist looking to either utilise their Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification or gain support to become one.
The Role
This position offers flexibility depending on your current qualifications and career goals:
- For qualified Independent Prescribers: You will take on a more clinical role, delivering patient-centred prescribing services, managing long-term conditions, and working closely with local healthcare providers.
- For non-IP pharmacists: Full support will be provided to undertake your IP qualification, alongside a structured development pathway to transition into a more clinical position over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality dispensing and patient care services
- Provide expert advice on medications and health conditions
- Support and deliver enhanced services (e.g., minor ailments, vaccinations, health checks)
- For IPs: Run prescribing clinics and manage patient treatments independently
- Build strong relationships with patients and the local community
What We’re Looking For
- GPhC-registered pharmacist
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, patient-first mindset
- Interest in developing clinical services
- IP qualification (desirable but not essential)
