Our Client are a respected, leading main contractor and have just been awarded a £10million new build residential project just outside of Guildford and are looking for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to lead the project.
Duties:
- Manage all commercial aspects of projects from initial procurement through to final account settlement
- Prepare, review, and administer contracts, with a strong focus on JCT forms of contract
- Carry out cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle
- Procure subcontractors and suppliers, including preparation of tender documentation and evaluation of returns
- Manage valuations, variations, and change control processes
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, value completed works, and identify risks
- Prepare and submit interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
- Negotiate and agree subcontractor accounts and manage payments
- Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Produce accurate and timely commercial reports.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Strong working knowledge and practical experience of JCT contracts
- Demonstrable experience managing projects from procurement stage through to final account
- Excellent commercial awareness and financial management skills
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Proficient in cost management and reporting tools/software
- Full UK driving licence
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (preferred).
