How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Growth & Operations Lead at The Medic Life:

Location: Hybrid, Knutsford, ideally 2 days per week

    Type: Full-time

Salary: £45 - £50k plus, performance-based bonus linked to revenue growth

    Reports to: Founder

    About The Medic Life:

The Medic Life is a fast-growing education company helping ambitious students secure places at leading UK medical and dental schools.

Through expert tuition, interview preparation, UCAT support and school partnerships, we support thousands of aspiring medics each year.

We are now entering our next phase of growth towards £1m plus revenue and are hiring our first full-time operational leader to help build the engine that powers this scale.

    The Opportunity:

This is not a traditional operations role.

You will work directly with the Founder to build scalable systems, improve commercial conversion, create operational excellence and help drive the next phase of growth.

We are looking for someone commercially sharp, ruthlessly organised and highly proactive, someone who enjoys turning chaos into clarity and spotting opportunities to improve performance.

This role is expected to evolve into a senior leadership position as the business scales.

    What You’ll Own:

    Operations and Systems

    • Own day-to-day business operations end to end.
    • Design and implement scalable processes as we grow.
    • Maintain and optimise CRM, scheduling and internal systems.
    • Identify bottlenecks and continuously improve efficiency.
    • Support financial administration including invoicing, tutor payments and basic reporting.
    • Success looks like a business that runs smoothly without constant founder intervention.

    Commercial and Lead Conversion

    • Respond rapidly to inbound tutoring enquiries.
    • Convert high-intent leads into paying customers.
    • Improve follow-up sequences and conversion processes.
    • Track key commercial metrics and recommend improvements.

This role has real revenue impact.

    Tutor and Talent Operations

    • Be the primary point of contact for tutors and interviewers.
    • Manage availability, scheduling and allocations.
    • Support tutor recruitment, onboarding and quality monitoring.
    • Organise and run tutor training sessions.

Success looks like fully utilised, high-quality tutor capacity.

    Programme and Event Delivery

    • Coordinate logistics for courses, workshops and online events.
    • Manage venues, schedules and communications.
    • Ensure delivery is consistently high quality.
    • Collect and implement feedback.

    School and Partner Relationships

    • Manage relationships with partner schools.
    • Coordinate talks, workshops and partnership activity.
    • Represent The Medic Life in a professional manner.

    Social and Community, desirable

    • Schedule and manage social content.
    • Support growth across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
    • Coordinate with content creators where needed.

    What We’re Looking For:

    Essential

    • Exceptionally organised and detail oriented.
    • Commercial mindset with strong customer instincts.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Comfortable owning multiple workstreams simultaneously.
    • Strong systems thinker using CRMs, automation and workflows.
    • High ownership mentality, you get things done.

    Highly Desirable

    • Experience in a startup or fast-growth environment.
    • Background in education, tutoring or admissions.
    • Familiarity with UCAT and medical admissions.
    • Experience improving conversion funnels.
    • Exposure to social media or community growth.

The Type of Person Who Thrives Here:

You might describe yourself as someone who likes building things from scratch, spots inefficiencies quickly, takes ownership without being asked, is commercial and not just operational, and enjoys fast-moving environments.

If you prefer heavily structured corporate roles, this probably is not the right fit.

    What We Offer:

    • Front-row seat in a fast-scaling education business.
    • Direct exposure to the Founder and growth strategy.
    • Real ownership and autonomy.
    • Clear progression as the business grows.
    • Flexible hybrid working.
    • Performance-linked bonus tied to business growth.
