How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are looking for a Junior Control Systems Engineer to join a growing automation and robotics team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is looking to develop hands-on experience in designing, programming, and commissioning control systems for bespoke machinery.

You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, supporting the development of control solutions for automated and robotic systems, including PLC programming, HMI development, and integration with mechanical and electrical systems. You will work closely with experienced engineers across design, build, and commissioning to deliver high-quality automation solutions.

    Typical projects include:

    * Automated assembly and production machines

    * Robotic pick-and-place systems

    * Vision inspection and automated quality control systems

    * Material handling and manufacturing cells across industries such as pharmaceutical, automotive, and general engineering

    Key Responsibilities

    * Assist in developing PLC programs and configuring HMIs for automation systems

    * Support the design of control sequences for robotic and automated machinery

    * Help integrate control systems with mechanical and electrical components

    * Support testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities on-site and in the workshop

    * Review customer specifications and assist in developing practical control solutions

    * Work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time

    Key Skills & Experience

    * Some experience or exposure to control systems engineering (placement, apprenticeship, graduate, or junior level)

    * Understanding of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar)

    * Basic HMI design or configuration experience (training can be provided)

    * Interest in automation, robotics, and industrial control systems

    * Good problem-solving and communication skills

    * Willingness to learn and develop in a hands-on engineering environment

    * Practical, proactive approach with strong teamwork ability

This role is ideal for someone at the beginning of their controls engineering career who is keen to build strong technical capability within a supportive, experienced team. Full training and development will be provided.
