How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Your new company
    You will be joining a multi-sector and highly respected civil engineering contractor based in Birmingham, recognised for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across the UK. This multi-accredited and well-established contractor has a strong orderbook and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Their commitment to delivering an exceptional standard of work has positioned them as a leader in the industry, and as part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a General Foreman to join their delivery team in the Midlands.

    This is a full-time permanent position based in the Solihull area.


    Your new role
    As General Foreman, your responsibilities will include:

    • Supervising and coordinating subcontractors and direct labour
    • Planning daily and weekly works to achieve programme milestones
    • Ensuring strict adherence to health, safety and quality procedures
    • Managing permits, inspections and method statements (RAMS)
    • Driving productivity, quality workmanship and site discipline
    • Supporting a positive, collaborative and safety-first site culture.


    What you'll need to succeed
    In order to be successful, you must have:

    • Proven experience as a Foreman within the civil engineering industry, ideally on large-scale infrastructure projects
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
    • Excellent knowledge of construction processes, equipment and safety procedures
    • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
    • CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS and First Aid
    • Full UK driving licence.
