How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Technical 'Know it All' - Paraplanner

    Solihull | Lucent Financial Planning

    Hybrid

    Salary: £55,000 – £75,000 depending on experience

    Benefits: 30 days holiday + bank holidays, pension, bonus scheme, protection benefits and private medical.

    The role

    You'll do what excellent paraplanners do best:

    • High-level technical research and complex case analysis
    • Producing high-quality suitability reports
    • File checking and maintaining strong compliance standards
    • Supporting advisers on complex planning strategies


    But this role goes much further, Lucent are looking for someone who can become the technical voice of the business.


    Someone who can:

    • Lead on complex technical cases
    • Translate financial planning strategies into clear, simple explanations
    • Speak confidently at client events and team sessions, representing the technical side of the firm
    • Contribute technical insights and ideas for social media and marketing content
    • Help advisers and the wider team stay ahead of regulation, tax planning opportunities and industry change


    Lucent recognise that technology will continue to evolve the paraplanning role, but what technology cannot replace is the human expert who can interpret complexity, explain ideas clearly and build trust with colleagues and clients. Thats exactly the person we're looking for.
